Derrimon Trading Company Limited has been a major distributor of consumer goods to the Jamaican market since 1998. Known for its matchless dependability and pioneering spirit, the company has expanded exponentially every year since its inception and shows no signs of slowing down.
Since its humble beginning, distributing commodities to supermarkets and wholesalers within the Kingston Metropolitan Area, Derrimon has increased both the range of products it distributes as well as the brands it represents. By attracting and concluding partnerships with global distribution and manufacturing companies, Derrimon has joined the ranks of the largest distribution and allied companies in Jamaica.
Derrimon’s principal operations are located at 235 Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston 11; less than two (2) miles from the port of Kingston and practically next door to the Gordon Key Transhipment Terminal. The warehouse facility is approximately 100,000 sq. ft. and sits on 3.5 acres of land.
The company also operates a wholesale (Sampars Cash & Carry), logistics support, warehouse storage rental, and cold storage facilities. In 2009, a strategic decision was taken to acquire Sampars Cash and Carry in order to expand Derrimon’s reach in down markets within the retail food trade. With more than thirty (30) years of operations, Sampars is one of the largest and oldest wholesale businesses in Kingston. This acquisition has increased the portfolio of products supplied to the market, and more importantly, has extended the strategic positioning of the company within the global context.
Derrimon distributes island-wide with a fleet of over forty (40) delivery trucks. This coverage ensures effective engagement between Derrimon and supermarkets, wholesalers, grocery stores, pharmacies, convenient stores and food service channels all across Jamaica.
